# Call to undefined function mb_detect_encoding()

 * On my site, with the plugin active, I get this error in the error log and the
   site doesn’t load:
 * Call to undefined function mb_detect_encoding() in /wp-content/plugins/convertkit/
   vendor/simple-html-dom/simple-html-dom.php on line 1234
 * When the plugin is deactivated, everything works normally. I tried reinstalling
   the plugin but that also didn’t fix the issue. I’m at a loss as to what is causing
   this issue and can only think to ask here. Thanks for any help you can provide!
