Can't import comments from blogspot

    I set up a new wordpress site and have been trying to import from a blogspot blog using the Blogger importer in the Tools section. First it imported no comments with my post. Then, I found this discussion and modified the plugin as directed. Tried importing again. This time it did import the comments — but only the first 1124 characters, then they were cut off.

    The client had made a “full export” file of his blogspot blog (xml) and I tried importing that using RSS.

    It didn’t import at all.

    Can’t find any solution to this. I need the full comments.

    What can be done?

    Follow-up: When I open the xml file provided by the client, I can see that the full text of the comments are there. But I can’t import that file using any of the importers available via Tools.
