# cannot access admin-panel

 * (Actually I’m running 3.0.1)
 * In the last few days I’ve become unable to log into my admin-panel. Accessing
   the frontpage is no problem, but when I try to go to the adminpanel it simply
   won’t happen.
 * It takes forever (literally 8-10 minutes or more) and when I do get in everything
   is blank as if it hasn’t loaded anything from the database. Doesn’t list any 
   posts, comments or anything, and the dashboard-page looks half-loaded.
 * The hosting company says everything looks fine on their end, so this is an issue
   with WP as far as I can tell.
 * Anyone have any suggestions?

 * Try [resetting your plugins](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F).
   If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the
   cause.
      If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via [FTP or SFTP](http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients),
   navigate to `/wp-content/themes/` and rename everything **except** the `/twentyten/`
   directory.  This will force the Twenty Ten theme to activate and hopefully rule-
   out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can sometimes interfere with the 
   admin panel).

 * Thanks for the input. I discovered on my own that it was the Akismet-plugin that
   was slowing everything down, so I disabled it.
