Sounds like an issue with the backend. You might want to try reinstalling the PHP files from a fresh ZIP. (Backup first since you had trouble in the first place.) Also, you might want to make sure that your web server meets the new minimum requirements.
Luckily, the fellow who helped me at my hosting support uses wordpress for himself, so he was able to figure out that configurations were wiped clean, I think.
I was getting this: Fatal error: Call to undefined function: wp() in /home/corinna/public_html/home/wp-blog-header.php on line 16 when I went to http://www.stamptopia.com
Not a good thing, when I run a tiny direct selling business and I sent out a newsletter to my customers telling them to go to my site, eh? Ohh… how Fate and I don’t get along!
I use Fantastico De Luxe to install and upgrade WP and my hosting service does NOT support it.
I have no clue what to look for..
So I can reinstall wordpress without affecting the databases?
PHP version 4.4.2
MySQL version 4.0.27-standard
Ok – I know these are less than wonderful questions.. but it’s almost a disservice to have a webhost install the software for you and then leave you to fend for yourself if something messes up. (though the support guy yesterday is a LIFE SAVER!!).. (well, blog save)..
My silly question: Can I download wordpress and then copy and paste all of the php files that are blank or is there configation needed in there?
Thanks,
Corinna
