Cannot access dashboard after attempting update?

    Hello,

    I’ve been having a really huge issue with my WordPress since I attempted to update my WordPress to 3.2 yesterday afternoon. After that, I was unable to access my dashboard.

    I have cleared my cache and cookies and I went through to my FTP to delete all of my plugins. Now, when I try to login to access my dashboard, I receive this message:

    Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 262144 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 122880 bytes) in /home/clandestinechic/clandestinechic.com/wp-admin/admin-header.php on line 118

    This is the message that I have received after deleting all of my plugins. I’m not sure what else I can do or what I have done wrong. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Make a backup of your theme, and then delete the folder.

    This will force WP to use Twenty Eleven.

    Thank you, Ipstenu! I do have one more question: I am trying to find my theme in my FTP, and I can’t even find that anymore. I thought my theme was in it’s own folder for me to easily delete.

    Should I just reinstall WordPress altogether to solve this?

    Reinstalling won’t delete the theme.

    Your theme should be in wp-content/themes/THEMENAME

    Thank you! I just went in and deleted the theme–and all of the other themes. However, when I tried to access my dashboard I received this message:

    You may not have enough memory allocated to run WP. Ask your webhost for help.

    ClandestineChic did that help? I have a similar issue after trying to run the auto update of WP. It seems Ipstenu is referring to a theme, not WP itself – is that correct?

    I’ve got the memory issue, and I know it’s not a memory issue as I’ve allocated 64MB, and the error refers to a tiny amount… “tried to allocate 122880 bytes”.

    It’s not a theme issue. It’s not a memory issue. It’s some problem as a result of performing the WP auto update. As I said on the above page – as I’ve read countless websites on what it could be – I see no option but to ask for a restore of a previous backup of the whole site 🙁

    I’m having the same issue after an upgrade from 3.1.4 to 3.2.1. I’ll try to roll back the upgrade but would (obviously) prefer if a solution is found… Please post if you have an idea…

    Unfortunately I had to rollback from a server backup. I hope you find a solution!

    FOUND A SOLUTION!!
    This applies for those using the thesis theme
    Go to wp-content/themes/YOUR_THESIS_NAME/lib/admin/header_image.php

    Edit the last line of the file from }<?php @error_reporting(0);… to } error_reporting(0);…

    That should sort you out.
