 * A few days ago I noticed that my plugin directory URL had changed. I was trying
to upload a plugin and it wasn’t showing up in the list. Long story short, I
ended up doing a fresh re-install of WordPress. I’m still on 2.6 because I go
thru my host and they haven’t upgraded yet. Anyway, I was hoping the re-install
would fix the plugin directory problem, but it did not.
 * The plugin directory has always been the standard /wp-content/plugins.
 * The plugin directory now reads something like
    /hermes/web06/b1548/***/blog/wp-
   content/plugins
 * Where the *** is located is a reference to the host name and my user name that
I did not wish to share here. blog/wp-content/plugins is correct, but I don’t
know about the rest. I have no idea where this /hermes/etc… place is located
and I haven’t touched anything to my knowledge to create this. Additionally,
I also do not know when this occured because I haven’t touched plugins for awhile.
 * Any assistance or direction or thoughts on what might be causing this problem
would be so very much appreciated.
 * I currently have no plugins running because I cannot re-upload them to the “correct”
   location after the re-install.
 * Thanks in advance for any feedback!

 * that’s just the names of the server and routes to your root – normal – mine reads
   nearly the same.
Try uploading them manually via ftp to your wp-content/plugins
   folder.
 * edit – looked at my business site at Ipower – very similar to you

 * Well then maybe that isn’t the exact problem. I have manually used FTP to upload
my plugins into wp-content/plugins and they show up there but they do not show
up in the WordPress plugin area. All I see is Akismet and Hello Dolly.
 * I have uploaded a theme the same way I do plugins and it works fine.
 * Any other ideas on why uploaded plugins wouldn’t show up???

 * Nevermind. I just messed up uploading the plugins I was trying and didn’t realize
they were two levels deep. I believe this is resolved. I believe I did have a
problem before the re-install but it is now fixed and its good to know the directory
   is correct.
 * Thanks!
