 * getting this after activation:
 * Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
    Parse error:
   syntax error, unexpected T_PUBLIC in /var/www/clients/client12/web27/web/wp-content/
   plugins/woocommerce-predictive-search/admin/classes/class-wc-predictive-search-
   admin.php on line 466
 * Exactly the same error and nothing else in my error logs.
 * Any advice?

 * I have not seen that Parse Error before and cannot recreate it on any of our
   test or live sites. If one or both of you would like to send me wp-admin and
   ftp access account creds I’d like to look at your install and see why that is
   happening.
 * Please use the [Contact Us form](http://a3rev.com/contact/) on the a3rev site
   to send the creds. Thank you and look forward to getting to the bottom of this
   issue.

 * [@ovidiu](https://wordpress.org/support/users/ovidiu/),
 * Found it. The problem relates to 3 places in the plugin code where we have used
   the shorten php syntax <? instead of <?php – on the vast majority of servers
   this causes no problem but some yes- [Read more about it here](http://stackoverflow.com/questions/14242543/parse-error-syntax-error-unexpected-public-t-public)
 * We have changed those 3 instances to the longer syntax and just pushing an update
   now v2.0.1
 * You and [@br0wnie91](https://wordpress.org/support/users/br0wnie91/) and all
   other users with that type of server php config will be able to install now.
   We also just checked all of 12 Lite version and 16 Pro version plugins and only
   found the instance on one other plugin – the lite version of [WooCommerce Email Inquiry and Cart Options](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/woocommerce-email-inquiry-cart-options/)
   which was only launched 2 days ago on WordPress (and had a very slow start by
   the way) We will update it tomorrow as it is 9.15pm here.
 * So from version 2.0.1 this problem no longer exists thanks to you Ovidiu – (Please
   read the changelog)
 * Thank you.

 * Thanks Steve, will now finally be able to checkout this plugin of yours 🙂
    Closing

 * Thanks Ovidiu,
 * If it wasn’t for you giving us access we would never have found it – we run 34
   clouds – 1 here in Australia – and 3 in the USA and could not reproduce it on
   any of them. It was a very simple fix once we could see the issue. So thank you
   again.

 * No problem Steve, you see, since I run my own server I usually figure out most
   of the problems on my own but in this case there was absolutely nothing in the
   error logs except above error message so I had to let you have access to figure
   it out.
