 * I have downloaded several plugins and have transferred them from local site to
   remote site. I can see the content of the plugin being uploaded on my FTP server
   and then showing that it has been uploaded , but none of them are showing up
   on my blog plugins.!
    can anyone please tell me what could be wrong? I have uploaded
   before with no problem, so I am mystified as to what is going on? thank you,

 * One of two possibilities:
 * The wp-content, wp-content/plugins, your specific plugin folder under wp-content/
   plugins needs ‘higher’ permissions such as 777 (see [Changing File Permissions](http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_File_Permissions)).
 * You are getting the plugin files uploaded incorrectly (into the wrong location).
   For example, a plugin called my-plugin gets put in wp-content/plugins/my-plugin/
   my-plugin folder. That’s one subfolder too many. [[See [Managing Plugins, Installing Plugins](http://codex.wordpress.org/Managing_Plugins#Installing_Plugins)).
