# Cannot activate Woocommerce plugin

 * Hi,
   It is not possible for me to activate the Woocommerce plugin, and I get this
   message: “There has been an critical error on this website”. I did first deactivate
   the plugin because I could not update a blogpost, but when deactivate Woocommerce,
   the blogpost was working. I have run the health check plugin and the report from
   it is shown below. I can see Woocommerce plugin was updated recently (around 
   1.9.23), so maybe that can be the reason for this issue.

 * From the information you’ve provided, it seems like there might be a conflict
   between the WooCommerce plugin and another plugin or theme on your site. This
   is a common cause of such issues, especially after updates. Can you perform a
   conflict test while WooCommerce is activated? You need to disable other plugins,
   except WooCommerce, to see which is having conflicts with it. [You can find a more detailed explanation of how to do a conflict test here](https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/).
 * If you haven’t found any conflicting plugin, it is worth a try reinstalling WooCommerce.
 * **Before you start**
 * Please make sure you have a good backup in place of your full site and database.
   Most hosting companies have this included in the subscription, but you could 
   also consider using a service like Jetpack. If something goes wrong, it’s nice
   to know that you can restore your site.

   Thank you for your answer. It started with the error “The response 
   is not a valid JSON response” every time I tried to update a blog article. Yesterday
   I restored my site from before the latest update of Woocommerce, and now it it
   working.Today, I have deactivated all plugins except Woocommerce payments, shipping
   and tax and Stripe gateway. If I try to deactivate these I get the error “An 
   critical error have occured”. I have deactivated Woocommerce main plugin and 
   if I trying to activate it gives the same critical error message.I can see the
   new Woocommerce update avaliable, but am afraid to update again as it seems to
   make problems the first time.

 * My version now is Woocommerce 8.0.2. Today I activated it and then I get the 
   error “Publication failed when making an test blogpost. The response was not

   Now I have deactivated another plugin “All in one SEO”, and making new
   posts is working. All other plugins activated and Woocommerce updated. So then
   it seems like the problem is solved. Sorry for making confusion about your plugin.
