# Cannot add categories

 * I’ve just had WordPress added to my site (www.france-property-and-information.
   com). In the initial setup there is a default category (uncategorized) which 
   I’ve renamed. I’ve then tried to add additional categories but have not been 
   successful. If I go to SITE ADMIN->MANAGE->CATEGORIES, I can see them. However,
   if I go to “view site”, they are not listed under “categories”. What do I need
   to make them visible under categories?
 * As a separate question, I want to set up WordPress so that it goes me SEO advantages,
   and I’ve been refered to [http://blogging.typepad.com/how_to_blog/2004/08/how_to_configur.html](http://blogging.typepad.com/how_to_blog/2004/08/how_to_configur.html)
   for this. However, when I cut and pasted the code at the end of my HTACCESS file,
   I lost the ability to upload my site (my site is created in FrontPage). Is there
   a better or easier way to do this?

 * Did you add any posts to those categories yet? Categories do not show up on the
   blog in the Categories list unless there are posted associated with them.

 * Thanks Oriecat. That was my problem. My categories are now appearing.
