Cannot add users to a certain site

    After searching through some support articles I found that another person had a similar problem: “

    The menu to change the user role (in both sites/[subsite]/edit AND sites/users) does not have anything in the dropdown menu for roles. I tried disabling my plugins but that didn’t solve the problem. I thought I may have had user registration closed but I do not.
    “

    But no solution was given. Can someone help?

    This only happens on one site? It’s possible the per site roles got corrupted if that’s the case.

    Any membership/role plugins?

    All other sites on the network seem fine.
    I didn’t mention in text the list says 3 items, but only shows 1 (through …/network/… page); none show on site users page.
    Same result in never-used-before browser.

    Corruption seems like the reason, but how to fix?

    Pop into the DB and go to wp_x_options.

    Look for blog_user_roles and wp_x_user_roles

    You should have one OR the other… And I’m 99% sure this is bog default. Copy/SAVE what you have in there now, replace with this.

    Within the _options table I found wp_user_roles. Even though it had something very similar, I replaced the text as above.
    But it made no diff. – I even tried it on another computer.

    I should have been more clear, you have to find wp_x_user_roles where X is the ID of the side having the problem.
