# Cannot Authenticate

 * Hello,
 * We’ve been trying to authenticate the Pardot Plug in on our website but appears
   to not really want to authenticate no matter what we try.looked through all the
   forums which had this same issue and tried seemingly everything but it doesn’t
   seem to work. Triple checked username/passwords/API and all seems to be in order.
   Created a pardot only user, reset passwords clear cache and reset settings and
   still having issues in verifying.
 * Spoken with pardot support and checked if we were able to log in directly to 
   the pardot site which we were successful so really not understanding the issue.
 * IPs are whitelisted also…We have checked the Http request and getting this response:-

 * I would check with your hosting company on this. My understanding is that this
   is caused by an older SSL version on your server that’s incompatible with Pardot’s
   API.
