 * I just tried automatically updating my WordPress to version 3.2.1. All I get
   is the following message:
 * “Downloading update from [http://wordpress.org/wordpress-3.2.1.zip](http://wordpress.org/wordpress-3.2.1.zip).
 * Unpacking the update.”
 * When I go back to the dashboard it still says I’m in the old version. Any ideas?
 * Thanks.

 * Try adding
 *     ```
       AddType x-mapp-php5 .php
       AddHandler x-mapp-php5 .php
       ```
 * to the top of your WordPress .htaccess file.
 * I don’t have a .htaccess file. I looked in the root folder and forced hidden
   files but nothing is there.
 * When I created the .htaccess file and uploaded it I got the following message
   on my website: IISPassword, The page cannot be displayed.
 * Not sure what to do next.
 * Remove the .htaccess file and contact your hosts for assistance.
 * WordPress wants the user apache to have read/write access and be the owner of
   the files. You can disable this feature by adding
 * define(‘FS_METHOD’, ‘direct’);
 * in the wp-config.php file.
 * I haven’t messed with the wp-config file yet. But I did contact my host. They
   created a .htaccess file and put it in the root directory. When they did I got
   the following message on my website’s home page (and control panel):
 * IISPassword
    The page cannot be displayed
 * Should I try the wp-config file next?
 * Also, I removed the .htacess file and everything is back to normal.
