cannot change post title colour

I am editing style.css and am having major problems tracking down the code that will control the colour of the posts titles.. I understand they are a type of link but even after changing link colour it is still black..
I need it to be white as i changed the background colour to black and now you cannot read it…
I really hope someone can help me out with this.
