Cannot clear backed up cron tasks

    I have more than 1600 tasks queued in Cron Manager, but I am unable to remove them no matter what I do. I have tried executing and removing them in bulk, and I have tried one at a time as well, but the number of queued events never changes, and as soon as I refresh the page the cron jobs that were supposedly removed are back again.
