# Cannot clear comments completely

 * Hi,
 * I try to clear all comments by empty the tables `wp_comments` and `wp_commentmeta`.
   Buf after that, in “Comments” section, the “All” tab still shows many comments,
   why?

 * Even after emptying `wp_comments` and `wp_commentmeta` tables, WordPress might
   still display old comment counts due to cached data.
 * **To fix this:**
 * Go to **Dashboard > Tools > Site Health > Tools** and clear the cache if your
   site uses any caching plugins.

 * I would recommend this plugin: [https://wordpress.org/plugins/delete-all-comments-of-website/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/delete-all-comments-of-website/)–
   it takes care of the deletion for you, including all the other things you need
   to consider. Clearing the database tables is not always the easiest way.
