# Cannot create a document – error 404

 * Hi I’m running into an issue when trying to create a “new document”.
 * I always get a 404 error which kinds of get on my nerves.
 * I see the correct request “docs/create” go through and it gets matches to the
   rewrite rule correctly.(docs/create/?$) I can also confirm tha the rewrite query’s
   the string (post_type=bp_doc &create=1).
 * So from what I understand, it should be working … but it aint’t.
 * I can “edit” documents already in th system no problem, so the “editor” seems
   to work … at least for editing.

 * Can you run a test to see if the issue persists if you’re only running BP Docs
   and BuddyPress using a vanilla theme like Twenty Nineteen? (It sounds like another
   plugin is getting in the rewrite path.)
