# Cannot create new posts except by first creating a draft…

 * For a while I’ve had an issue with new blog posts.
 * If I choose to create a new post and after writing, immediately publish I get
   an error message telling me that WordPress cannot create the post. The item is
   then stored as a draft.
 * If I edit the draft and then publish it, then the post is accepted and published.
 * Can anyone suggest a fix? I think this started after one of the more recent updates
   to 2.9.1 or 2.9.2 but I’m not absolutely certain of this… I should have given
   the issue attention when I first noticed.
