# Cannot deactivate plugin

 * “An unexpected error occurred while attempting to configure Wordfence to delete
   its data on deactivation.”
 * I’m not even attempting this. I selected the default option to keep the data.
   The plugin refuses to switch off.

 * I am wondering if there is a plugin conflict on the site, PHP issue, or JS issue.
 * Can you send a diagnostic report to **wftest @ wordfence . com**? You can find
   the link to do so at the top of the **Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics** page.
   Then click on “**Send Report by Email**”. Please add your forum username where
   indicated and _respond here after you have sent it._
