# Cannot delete the “cache” folder created by wp-super-cache

 * Hello, i cannot change the permission and delete the “cache” folder. When i enter
   the admin page i get the error
 * > Error: Your cache directory (/home/xxxx/public_html/wp-content/cache/) or /
   > home/xxxx/public_html/wp-content need to be writable for this plugin to work.
   > Double-check it.
   >  Cannot continue… fix previous problems and retry.
 * As said, i cannot chmod the cache folder nor delete it but i can chmod for other
   directories.
 * I uninstalled via the plugin “uninstall.php” file and it too didn’t delete the
   cache folder !!!

 * Contact your hosts. They need to change the ownership on the cache folder.

 * Hi, Can I butt in on this thread please, as I’ve had the same problem.
 * Changed hosts recently and working perfectly previously, but now getting this
   same message
 * “Error: Your cache directory (path/to/cache or path/to/wp-content need to be 
   writable for this plugin to work. Double-check it.”
 * I’ve taken the advise above and relayed it back to the host company, but they
   have replied saying that as its a third party application I’ll have to request
   help from elsewhere? can you shed any further light on how this problem can be
   remedied, or should I be going to the author of the plugin?

 * paul1107 – your hosting sucks. That is a 10 second job for someone to fix. Just
   google for chmod and change the permissions to 777, that’s the simplest way of
   fixing it. Change wp-content to 755 afterwards to secure it.

 * thanks for coming back donncha, I found the issue which as you said was just 
   the chmod settings, thanks for your input
