# Cannot Edit a Permalink

 * I’ve read many posts here about not being able to Edit Permalinks. There is no
   Edit button. it never appears. I am using
    WP 5.2 php 5.6
 * Nothing I do shows the EDIT button next to the permalink. Most of the others 
   complaining about the same thing do NOT get an answer. Can you edit a permalink
   or not? If so, how.
 * How do we get to the EDIT button?
