Title: Cannot Edit Posts After WP Update Last modified: February 14, 2020 --- # Cannot Edit Posts After WP Update * [brian47374](https://wordpress.org/support/users/brian47374/) * (@brian47374) * [6 years, 3 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/cannot-edit-posts-after-wp-update/) * Unfortunately, I made the mistake of upgrading to 5.3.2 just a little bit ago… and now I cannot edit any posts on the backend because when the pages try to load, they are all blank white. * On my dashboard, it says that a PHP update is required because WordPress has detected that my site is running on an insecure version of PHP. Once done, if the backend crashes again, try [manually resetting your plugins](https://wordpress.org/support/article/faq-troubleshooting/#how-to-deactivate-all-plugins-when-not-able-to-access-the-administrative-menus)( no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause. * If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via [SFTP or FTP](https://wordpress.org/support/article/ftp-clients/), or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
