I have Enable Comments set to yes in the Event Pages settings, and I have Allow Comments checked in the discussion section of my event, but I do not get a comment box displayed on my events. If I allow comments on any other page, I do get a comment box, it only doesn’t appear on events.

I have run Events Manager in Safe mode and have tried displaying events as both posts and pages and I have no comment box with any of those configurations.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

I would suggest that you try installing our WP Safe Mode plugin, to rule out whether another plugin or your theme could be causing this. This can be done via the regular plugin installer and searching “WP Safe Mode”. With that, you can test your site with other plugins deactivated and running a default theme such as Twenty Twenty without it affecting your other visitors.

My apologies for the delay in replying but I was out of town.

My site is using the Kadence theme. With comments enabled, visitors can post comments to posts and pages but comments do not show in events whether they are displayed as posts or pages. With WP safe mode enabled and the only plugin enabled being Events manager, comments still do not work in events. Comments DO work in events when using the Twenty-Twenty Two default theme.

This can be closed as I found the problem.

When using Kadence, there is an events section in the customizer that has a checkbox to enable comments, which overrides the setting in the Events Manager settings and individual event settings. With this on, I now get the comments dialog.
