I have a product field called “Additional product details” that I want to display on the Facebook product page, but I cannot find the field from the dropdown menu. I see lots of obscure field options, but not this one. In order to add this field to the Facebook feed, what would I use for “value” and what field would I map it to?

  • Hi,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us. How did the “Additional product details” field end up on your product edit page? Is it a WooCommerce attribute you created, is it a custom field you created or is it coming from an external 3th party plugin (and if so, which one?). When it is a normal WooCommerce attribute or custom field added with ACF than it really should show up in the drop-downs.

Thanks for your quick reply! The field was added as ACF. I’m assuming that there’s an option under “value” for the “Additional product details” but I cannot seem to find it. Would it be called something else? What would the corresponding “Facebook catalog feed/Instagram attributes” be?

Also, in there a way to add a video attribute to the FB product listing? What would the value be?

Can you please share full screenshots of how you configured your “Additional product details” field in ACF so we can try to replicate it on our test website?

“What would the corresponding “Facebook catalog feed/Instagram attributes” be?” –> That depends on the data you put in that ACF field and for what attribute you would like it to be used. In theory you can map it to any Facebook field.

There is no video attribute you can add to Facebook feeds.

Thanks for this. Contrary to what you mentioned the field you added is not named “Additional product details”, that is the name of the group of fields you created.

The fields you created in ACF are “Text description”, “Video”, “Video 2”, “Instagram” and “Additional images”. Did you already try searching for those fields names in the plugin drop-downs?

Thanks for the info! I found the field and added it (mapped it to “About”). Here’s the screenshot: https://ibb.co/Jc2sb0R

I refreshed the product feed, however, the new field still isn’t visible on the facebook project listing. I must be missing something still. 🙁

The field “about” is not a field recognized by Facebook so it won’t be added by the plugin. You need to make sure to select a field from the (left) drop-down that exists already and not create your own custom field name.
