# Cannot Install WordPress

 * Hi, thank you for being so supportive and helpful.
 * I have almost zero knowledge in website building, so thanks for being patience
   with me.
 * I have a free webhosting account, when i log into the cpanel, i go to the “Softaculous
   Apps Installer” and selected WordPress.
 * checked some relavant boxes of options. and selected a theme.
 * after i press the button “Install”, i get this error message:
 * “
    The following errors were found : Installation cannot proceed because the 
   following files already exist in the target folder : index.php Please delete 
   these files or choose another folder.OR Select the checkbox to overwrite all 
   files and continue “
 * I have no idea what does this means and what should i do as a best solution.
 * For your information, i do not have a personally owned domain name yet. and my
   webhosting FreeHosting.com did not give me a domain name. do i need to have a
   domain name to install WordPress?
 * What is the best solution for me now, inorder for me to install WordPress?
 * Please feel free to ask me any information or details.

 * The error is saying that you already have an index.php file in your document 
   root that you selected in softaculous. In order to successfully install wordpress,
   you would need to remove this index.php (or rename it so you don’t lose it).
 * Softaculous is simply preventing you from overwriting your current site, which
   could result in loss of data.
