# Cannot make wordpress work on https with alias

 * Hi,
 * I am having big problems with making wordpress work on our server.
 * For the server setup details please see this link:

 * The behavior is that when I access domain.com/blog I can see the content (obviously
   loaded from database) but no styling. When inspect source the assets are loaded
   from http not https.
 * I have tracked down that value of WP_Styles->base_url is “[http://www.domain.com/blog&#8221](http://www.domain.com/blog&#8221);
   even though in databse both siteurl and homeurl are “[https://www.domain.com/blog&#8221](https://www.domain.com/blog&#8221);
 * When I try to access domain.com/blog/wp-admin browser reports infinite redirect
   loop.
 * I have tried all kinds of stuff I found online (eg. FORCE_SSL_LOGIN, WPHTTPS_RESET
   etc etc) no to luck
 * Any ideas? I have spent way too long on this already (1,5 day)…

 * Installing [https plugin](https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-https/) solved
   it. there were 2 separate problems:
 * 1) infinite loop
    2) assets being served from http
 * The plugin solved both, the first problem solved by adding .htaccess to the root(
   which I tried milion times, but apparently I must have made some mistake in the
   rewrite rules).
 * But that doesn’t solve the issue with assets (I know, I tried/tested). That means
   this pugin has to do some magic in php as well, which by my logic is a pretty
   big issue in the wordpress itself…
