Cannot paste link when Rank Math is active

Noticed that I cannot paste a link directly in the editor (select text, paste link) when Rank Math is active and linked to the Rank Math database.

When I try, the block says it’s encountered an error and cannot show a preview. Need to reload to make it go away.

Turned off all plugins except for Rank Math and the problem persists. Turn off Rank Math and everything is okay.

Any idea what might be the problem?

Hi there,

Your method does work. The method I talk about is selecting text and Ctrl-V a link directly. Normally that makes a link out of the text.

My RankMath version is 1.0.45.

Funny thing is that it works when the plugin is a fresh install, so not yet linked to the RankMath site.

Hope you can find what the problem is and solve it.

It still seems to be working fine on our end:

Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

Installed a test site (see video), deleted all plugins (except for RankMath) and all themes (except for Twenty20).

When RankMath is deactivated, no problem. When RankMath is activated, I cannot paste a link directly.

It did work when I had RankMath not linked to my RankMath account. I linked it, it did not work, unlinked it and the problem persists.

At my wits end…

Sorry for the confusion. On our testing site, we were using an updated version of the plugin.

We released a quick Beta update you can try to see if that helps.

Please enable the Beta update by following this:

If you are unable to see an update, please clear Rank Math’s transients from:
WP Dashboard >> Rank Math >> Status & Tools >> Database Tools >> Remove Rank Math Transients >> Remove transients

Please clear the caches from the server and WordPress after updating.

You can disable the Beta updates once you update to the latest version and the issue is fixed.
