# Cannot prevent comments

 * I have done everything listed to cancel comments and there are no links in any
   of my blogs to post comments but I am still receiving spam comments (even to 
   blogs that have comments off).
 * How can spammers be sending comments without this being enabled?
 * How can I prevent this from happening?
 * Any help would be most appreciated.

 * Go to the plugins section and install one of the anti-spam plugins. One come 
   built in with wordpress, is it turned on?

 * If you absolutely positively do not want comments, then you could delete the 
   following files from your blog’s main installation directory:
 * wp-comments-post.php
    wp-trackback.php
 * That will deal with the blind spam hits to your blog.

 * Thanks to both of you – I enabled the plugin. I had already deleted wp-comments-
   post.php in the past but it did not help. Now I’ve deleted wp-trackback.php too.
 * Hopefully it will work this time…
