• Hi,

When I try to publish posts I get the messages below (I have anonomized some of the code). I can view the site and view published posts, so as far as I can tell everything else is OK. I think I’m running version 2.2.1.

I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Any one have any suggestions about whether it is my blog or my hosting/MySQLdatabase that is causing the problem?

Does the DB user have all the privileges?

    I don’t know. How would I check.

Now it’s my turn to say: I don’t know.
Depending on your site/host admin panel you should be able to go into the Database(s) section and see what are the privileges for the user that is associated with your WordPress database. It must have ALL the privileges.

Hi Moshu. thanks for trying to help.

I’m not sure the privileges have changed as I have not altered anything. I have checked my account and all looks in order. My account is with 1&1 and they allow me to have multiple installations of wordpress on the same database. So, I went into another of my blogs, I then tried to post and got exactly the same error message, as listed above. This sounds like a problem with my host. What do you think?

That’s an infamously bad host – at least based on the feedback about them in these forums.

So, what was their response to your inquiry about the error?

    Hi,

Well, I contacted 1&1 support and I was on the phone for about an hour, to their Philipines call centre. I’m in Manchester, England.

Firstly, they told me that I had used more than my allocated megabytes for my account. I deleted loads from MySQL and it still did not work.

Secondly, they concluded that they didn’t have a clue why it still did not work even though I deleted about 150 MB of stuff from my account. They recommended completely reinstalling everything as ‘WordPress was corrupted’.

All this happened last night, UK time. I decided to give it one more try a couple of hours ago before reinstalling everything and of course it all works fine, now! When you delete stuff off a MySQL database it must take a few hours to filter through but after 24 hours everything is fine.

Seems obvious now. Thanks for your help.
