Just started today, we could not access it anymore, and saw this error: * Fatal error: Cannot redeclare wordpress_importer_init() (previously declared in …./wordpress-importer.php:1123) in …./wordpress-importer.php on line 1217 * Earlier of the day, it showed a different error about login attempt. * When we looked at folders and files on 1and1, many of them have today or last night as the modified date and time. * We did not touch any files ourselves recently, so wondered what may have caused this. Would an auto-failed attempt cause this? If so, how can we revert that if we can’t even access the site anymore? Then check if the issue persists. If so, do the same for your theme. Log in through ftp. 2. go to /wp-content/plugins/ 3. Backup everything from that folder to your local PC. 4. Delete all plugins from server. * 3 is optional, but strongly recommended, so you can easily upload them again 1 by 1. These files do not contain any data created through these plugins. Then you can investigate why. Then visit the root of your website and everything will work again 😉 * I have a client with same issue and i resolved in that way. Reason? Maybe you installed WordPress as 1&1 app. That’s mean 1&1 have the control over installation, security, plugins, themes and more. * Now i am pretty sure you will see on admin welcome a new message: What kind of site you have?
