# Cannot Remove Guest User

 * I am the administrator of my site [frannybolsa.com](http://frannybolsa.com). 
   I recently added a guest user to my site and now need to remove that user. When
   I try to delete the guest user, I get a 404 error. I am unable to delete this
   particular user account nor can I change the password for the account. I am still
   learning the technical side of WordPress. Any guidance would be appreciated. 
   I have spent time searching this forum for information but have been unable to
   find anything relating to my problem.

 * Have you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.
 * – re-uploading all files & folders – **except** the wp-content folder – from 
   a **fresh** download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of
   files & folder before uploading the new ones.

 * I have tried all of the above. I still cannot delete the guest user account nor
   can I change the user password. Every time I try I get a 404 error.
