# Cannot Save: access issue?

 * At this location:
    /wp-admin/theme-editor.php
 * Suddenly, none of the files are editable. This message displays:
    “You need to
   make this file writable before you can save your changes. See the Codex for more
   information”
 * However, we haven’t changed any CHMODs; but we confirmed, and they are set correctly.
 * Any idea what’s goping on?

 * It means the file permissions on the wp-content/themes/YOURTHEME/*.php files.
   What are they set to?

 * The files are either: 755, 775, or 777 << All are presenting issues.
 * wp-content folder is: 755
    themes folder is: 755

 * What’s the permission for the specific theme folder? The one inside wp-content/
   themes ?
 * It’s possible your server just doesn’t let you use the theme editor, mind you.

 * Are you sure your theme editor is pointing to the right theme? IIRC the dropdown
   on the right is alphabetical…

 * Yeaaah, and nothing changed anywhere? 😉 I say this because I know for a painful
   fact that cPanel just upgraded a mess of servers and shot a bunch of people in
   the foot.
 * Go through what YOU might have changed, what your server might have changed, 
   etc.

   and my observations). But obviously, something changed.
