 * Hello,
    the old bug reappared that the mailpoet plugin fails to update (automatic
   update). The issue still lies with the `.ea-php-cli.cache -> ea-php74` symlink.
   If I delete the symlink manually before launching the plugin update, it works
   fine. At the next auto-update the update will fail (which happens quite frequently
   given the high frequency at which new versions are released !). I would love
   to see the automatic mailpoet update work seamlessly instead of ssh’ing to my
   server everytime to `rm mailpoet/.ea-php-cli.cache` and manually launch the plugin
   update. Any suggestion ? Thanks !

 * OK, a bit more context : the .ea-php-cli.cache symlink is generated when one
   uses the “Server-side cron (Linux cron)” option in the Advanced Settings of Mailpoet.

   In there, Mailpoet tells to run the command `php /my/home/wp-content/plugins/
   mailpoet/mailpoet-cron.php /my/home/`. Running this exact command means that
   the mailpoet-cron.php will be executed by the PHP CLI **from within the mailpoet
   plugin folder** , and the PHP CLI coupled with EasyApache (comes with cPanel
   I think) will generate the symlink. I did find a discussion with cPanel developers
   [https://github.com/CpanelInc/php-cli/issues/2](https://github.com/CpanelInc/php-cli/issues/2)
   and there should have been a fix incorporated in the WordPress Core as per [https://core.trac.wordpress.org/attachment/ticket/46040/46040.diff](https://core.trac.wordpress.org/attachment/ticket/46040/46040.diff)
 * I am stuck there at trying to understand why the bug pops up…again.
    Any help
   will be very appreciated !
 * Thanks
    Thierry

 * Hi there [@palijn](https://wordpress.org/support/users/palijn/) 👋🏽!
 * Thank you for reaching out to MailPoet Support!
 * I’m sorry to hear you’re having problems with our plugin.
 * I am not able to reproduce this issue on my site, probably because I don’t have
   the EasyApache module active.
 * I have reported this to the team for advice on how to troubleshoot it. Once we
   have some news about what the next steps are, we will get back to you.
 * Thanks for your patience.
