# Cannot update plugin, error “not authorized”

 * Hello,
 * I purchased the PRO version of your plugin, which I am using on CanineCupcakes.
   com
 * And I am being told I am not authorized to do your latest update. I know there
   are risks with no updating plugins in a timely fashion, so I am trying to figure
   out the issue here as soon as possible.
 * I can provide my purchase ID if necessary, but I wasn’t sure if putting it in
   a public forum was the smartest move.

 * there is a licence key you need to add in order for updates to work. Check this
