# Cannot update plugins within WP

 * Hi,
 * I moved the site and now I cannot update or install a plugin from the WordPress
   admin area.
 * I get this error message:
    The destination folder for streaming files does not
   exist or is not writable.
 * Any idea how this can be fixed?

 * Looks like a permissions issue. I would temporarily set your permission on your
   plugins folder to something like 777 to see if it works. If that doesn’t work
   then it could be a group/owner issue. You might want to visit [this article](http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_File_Permissions)

 * Hi,
 * I tried to change permissions and other tips provided on forums. Nope!
    Hope 
   my host has a solution for this.
 * Uploading through ftp is an option but not practical.

 * Yeah, I’m not sure what else to suggest at this point except possibly looking
   at the group/owner and possibly a chown if you have not tried that already…
