# Cannot update WordPress

 * I am attempting to update my WordPress to the latest version 5.8.2 and I got 
   this message
 *     ```
       Downloading update from https://downloads.wordpress.org/release/en_CA/wordpress-5.8.2.zip…
       The authenticity of wordpress-5.8.2.zip could not be verified as no signature was found.
       Unpacking the update…
       Could not copy file.: wordpress/wp-includes/js/dist/format-library.min.js
       Installation Failed
       ```
   
 * Can anyone assist me in understanding what this means and what to do about it?

 * Make sure you have proper file permission on your WordPress directory. Sometimes
   WordPress could not find proper permission to update files in a directory so 
   this happens.
