Problem 1. is presumably a consequence of problem 2… if the access to the remote storage (Google Drive) was not set up, then attempts to backup will not do anything useful.
Regarding 2, please can you confirm that you obtained the API key and secret successfully from the Google Drive website, and entered them into your UpdraftPlus settings. If you did, please send a screenshot of those settings (but obfuscate your API secret, as that is indeed meant to be secret).

I may be misunderstanding what happens in right-to-left, but in your UpdraftPlus settings page:
– your secret is the same way round as in the Google settings
– but your client ID has all the components between dots reversed (is com.googleusercontent.apps.*0493 instead of *0493.apps.googleusercontent.com).
Could that be it?

you are right.
it does seems to be in the wrong direction even if i copy paste it from google.
maybe it’s because my wordpress version is in Hebrew (right-to-left).
but even when i’m trying to change text direction it goes back RTL.
very strange.

I’m afraid I don’t have any special knowledge of how WordPress handles right-to-left… if it were me, I would Google for information about it or post in a different forum for general WordPress help…

Actually, I’ve just taken a look at somewhere in the code that could be causing the problem. It might be UpdraftPlus after all.
I’ve just released version 1.2.43 – update to that, and let me know if that fixes it…

that’s the version that i installed today from the first place.
so i dont think that it’s going to fix my problem.
No, I didn’t release 1.2.43 with some changes until the moment I made the post mentioning it.
