# Cannot write or edit posts

 * My wordpress blog will not allow me to edit or write posts. Everytime I go to
   the edit post page I am defaulted to the HTML tab (even though the visual tab
   is highlighted). I try to click on visual to change things up and that doesn’t
   work. All text in the HTML box is white and can only be seen if highlighted. 
   I also can’t add tags or change the categories section to “most used” and when
   I click the “add photo” button it replaces the page with the upload screen rather
   than giving me the usual pop up window.
 * This issue popped up on my Macbook Pro with google chrome, firefox and safari.
   This is also an issue on my school computers that have XP and Internet Explorer.
 * The only computer I have been able to work with is my Windows 7 computer using
   Firefox.
 * Anyone have some way to fix this issue. It’s an issue not being able to post,
   haha.

 * Notice the white columns on the side and the top of the page (arrows pointing
   to it). I’ve never seen that before I had this issue. Does that have something
   to do with this.

 * I used Fantastico to update my WordPress database on my server’s end and that
   seems to have fixed the problem. I still don’t understand why this issue popped
   up at such a random time (I had the same WordPress configurations hours before
   I was suddenly unable to post), but the issue appears to be resolved.

   did you update? Suddenly the same thing is happening to me. Can’t edit a post,
   not even to correct a mis-spelling…. disabling plugins doesn’t change the problem
   a bit. Thanks

 * Wow now my post is gone. Although it shows in my list of posts in admin, it returns
   404 when you try to browse to the page. All I wanted to do was edit the post…

 * I had the same exact issue as thegameison on July 4. WordPress was working fine
   for a while, then wouldn’t let me write or post using IE8 (Win7). What changed
   was the new version of WordPress (3.2) became available. That’s when the problem
   began.
 * I’ve upgraded to the new version (3.2.1 now) and the problem is gone.
