# Can't acces wp-admin after changing it to https

 * Good day everybody,
 * The Website i was working on was on [http://](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/cant-acces-wp-admin-after-changing-it-to-https/?output_format=md),
   and I wanted to change it to [https://](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/cant-acces-wp-admin-after-changing-it-to-https/?output_format=md).
   And so i did that in the wp-admin dashboard settings menu, changed the siteurl
   and home form http to https. After that everything went wrong, couldnt acces 
   wp-admin anymore getting a “Your connection is not private” message on chrome.
 * So i started looking on the the forums to solve it, and solved some of it now
   my website is http again, did this in phpmyadmin but there is still one problem
   when I try to go to /wp-admin it still is on https:// and still can’t login, 
   and I’m now stuck on this and need help. I want it to change it all back to http

   to the wp-admin link, its on https

    database.?

 * yes both are now [http://qnipphaarvorming.nl](http://qnipphaarvorming.nl).
 * also when i try to go past(unsafe) that problem with the private connection message
   of google, then the next page shows…
 * -The requested URL /wp-admin/ was not found on this server.
 * Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument
   to handle the request.-

 * Can you access the `wp-config.php` through FTP. If so add this config option 
   there
 * `define( 'force_SSL', false );`
 * Now check to see If you are able to login now.

 * yes I already tried this sevaral times but no still the same, and does it matter
   where i put the code? I just put it under <?php.

 * the wp-config file is updated so you can try it out too, but no luck.

 * I just reproduced your situation and was able to successfully access the admin
   area after I updated the home and siteurl from database
 * Just to be sure , did you follow the same steps
 * 1. Go to `wp_options` table.
    2. In the option_name column change `siteurl` to
   http:// and `home` also to http://
