# Can't access wp-admin. Error message.

 * I seem to be making a mistake somewhere. I have downloaded wordpress, changed
   the wp-config file, downloaded filezilla, yet I still cannot log in to my websites
   wp-admin page nor connect to my server through filezilla. When i go to [http://www.mywebsite.com/wp-admin](http://www.mywebsite.com/wp-admin)
   I see this message:
    Error establishing a database connection
 * This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.
   php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This
   could mean your host’s database server is down.
 *  Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
    Are you sure that 
   you have typed the correct hostname? Are you sure that the database server is
   running?
 * If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host.
   If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.
 * and through Filezilla
    Command: PASS ********** Response: 530 Login authentication
   failed Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server
 * Im not sure what I am missing or why I am unable to connect.

 * Are you aware of there being three sets of login credentials involved here?
 * 1a) username & password for server access at your host;
    1b) FileZilla uses the
   above; 2) MySQL username & password in wp-config for WordPress database access;
   note: might or might not be the same as for server access (1a, 1b) 3) WordPress
   username & password for accessing your site.
