# Can’t activate Akismet

 * I’m trying to activate Akismet on my WordPress site. I’m starting with the free
   personal option to try it out before paying. I get to the checkout page and it
   says there is nothing in the cart and I get error messages “You do not have permission
   to access this resource.” I think I’m signed into Jetpack because the other features
   work fine.
 * Any tips on getting this to work?

 * Please ensure you are logged into your WordPress.com / Akismet.com account. If
   you encounter issues at checkout, try clearing your browser cache or using a 
   different browser.
 * Also, if you are trying to activate the Akismet Anti-spam service through the
   Jetpack plugin, verify that your WordPress.com account is correctly connected
   to your site.

 * I tried the steps in the activate link you provided on a different browser (Safari
   and not Firefox) and this time I got to the shopping cart page. I entered my 
   email and county and got the error message “_That email address is already in
   use. If you have an existing account, _[please log in](https://wordpress.com/log-in?redirect_to=%2Fcheckout%2Fakismet%2Fak_free_yearly%3FcheckoutBackUrl%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fakismet.com%252Fpricing%252F%26_gl_cid%3D1180630614.1754329817%26_gl_sid%3D1754329817%26_tkl%3D09xyjogkwjiPk6TVCt5ad%252F7n%26flow%3Dcoming_from_login&email_address=jabo%40jaboart.com)_._”
   I checked the Jetpack dashboard and it says everything is connected. I think 
   this has happened before but I’m not sure what the fix was.

 * Thanks for the follow-up! From what I can see, it looks like you may have two
   WordPress.com accounts. One uses an email ending in `@jaboart.com`, and the Jetpack-
   connected account on your site appears to use an email ending in `@centurylink.
   net`.
 * To activate Akismet, you’ll want to make sure you’re logged in with the same 
   WordPress.com account that’s already connected to Jetpack — the `@centurylink.
   net` one.
