# Can’t Change URL to HTTPS

 * Not sure if these are related, but still struggling to find a solution or cause
   for this earlier issue – [https://wordpress.org/support/topic/additional-https-apppearing/](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/additional-https-apppearing/)
 * On to the current one.
 * Attempting to switch to HTTPS in wordpress, SSL is installed, however on the 
   backend under ‘Settings’ where I should be able to type in and save “[https://awkmo.co&#8221](https://awkmo.co&#8221);
   instead of “[http://awkmo.co&#8221](http://awkmo.co&#8221); it won’t change.
 * I change it, and it says it saves, but day after day it just says [http://awkmo.co](http://awkmo.co)
   no matter what I do.
 * Any thoughts? Any chance they’re related?

 * I just checked on my web browser and your **website URL is HTTPS**. If you don’t
   see it yet on your web browser, try clear your browser cache.

 * Hi,
 * THanks for this. It was more a question on the backend that it wouldn’t let me
   change the preferred URL under general settings.
 * I’ve managed to fix it. It turns out it was a by product of changing the functions.
   php file when I wasn’t able to get in. Once I changed it back the issue was resolved
   in the back end.
