# Can’t edit or write posts

 * My family has a number of blogs on a server. My biggest blog isn’t working. I
   can still see all the posts, but I can’t write any new posts or edit any old 
   posts. When I try to edit a post, the visual editor is completely blank except
   for the message “Transport failure – you might want to retry again later. Retry.”
   I can’t get the text editor to do anything. We’ve tried all browsers, more than
   one computer, and even different locations. We also had all the plugins deactivated.
   My webhost can edit posts, but I can’t do anything. Does anyone know what is 
   causing the problem? Thanks!

 * This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins,
   and switch to the default Twenty Seventeen theme. If the problem goes away, enable
   them one by one to identify the source of the problem.
 * If you can install plugins, install [Health Check](https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/).
   On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and
   change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, **without affecting normal
   visitors to your site**.

 * Thanks for your response, James. Those are good suggestions and we tried them.
   Unfortunately, that didn’t fix the issue. It somehow magically fixed itself today!
   We have no idea how but are happy anyway!
