Hi, thanks for quick reply. I was able to import the categories by csv file, but without hierarchy.

in terms of the 18 entries, the export showed all entries while running, but in the downloadfile were only 18 entries and no closing. That resulted in an endless running import after 18 entries.

so it seems the xml generator is broken. i choosed xml because of the hierarchy as this would be much more easier to debug.

i edit my review to 3 stars, because i was able to import all categories now, but the missing hierarchy (possibly due to different ids in new database) and the lack of xml processing takes 2 stars.

@wom872 Thanks for your details. We’re glad to hear that you were able to import the categories successfully.

Regarding the hierarchy issue, it does sound like the mismatched IDs in the database might be causing this problem. To resolve this, we recommend ensuring that the parent-child relationships are explicitly defined using the parent>child>grandchild format in the CSV. This helps the importer correctly establish the hierarchy during the process. You can download the category sample files here: https://www.smackcoders.com/blog/wordpress-ultimate-csv-importer-csv-sample-files-and-updates.html

For the XML import issue, we apologize for the inconvenience. The endless running import after 18 entries is unusual and definitely something we take seriously. Our team has addressed several XML-related bugs in the latest version. Could you please try upgrading to the newest version and running the import again? If the issue persists, we’d be happy to troubleshoot this further with you.

Your feedback about the XML generator is invaluable, and we will prioritize reviewing and improving this functionality in our upcoming updates to ensure smoother processing and debugging options.

I noticed that you mentioned editing your review by increasing the stars. However, it seems the review has not been updated yet. If you could kindly update it once the issue is resolved, it would be greatly appreciated, as your input helps us continually improve.

We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve these concerns. If there’s anything else we can assist you with, please feel free to reach out. Our support team is here to help!

Thank you for trusting us with your project.
