Hi Renai,
This is surely no known bug, you’re the first one I know of experiencing this issue. Not sure what could be going wrong here, could you create me an temporary account so I can take a look?
Hmm apologies — creating an account on my (large and commercial) site for a developer I don’t know is a security risk I can’t take 😉
I don’t know if it will help, but one other symptom is that the plugin proved hard to deactivate. I had to deactivate it three times in WordPress’ plugin admin page before it obeyed.
Hope this helps. My site runs on the latest version of WordPress — 3.6.1 — and runs a fairly standard set of plugins.
Understood.
Can you install a debugging plugin like “BlackBox debug bar” to see if any error notices pop-up when inputting the API key or when uninstalling the plugin (as you described)?
Also, do you run any other plugins that work with any remote API’s and do you have any problems with them? Do you happen to know if your server is running Apache (Linux) or IIS (Windows) and which version of PHP it is on. That would be really helpful.
No worries, I’ll test BlackBox later today. We’re on Linux, server information here:

We don’t have any problems with other plugins with remote APIs. Here’s two images showing our current plugins:

WordPress Firewall occasionally creates problems, but I disabled it and the same problem occurred.
Renai
Problem solved — it appeared to be a plugin named ‘Limit Login Attempts’. I disabled the plugin, connected Mailchimp for WP to Mailchimp, set it up, and then re-enabled Limit Login Attempts. All seems to be working fine. For anyone else that has this problem in future, I recommend temporarily disabling security-related plugins.
Cheers! 🙂
Awesome, glad you figured it out renai42. Still didn’t have time to test with your plugin setup.
Good luck further configuring the plugin, hope you like it!
No worries, it’s working perfectly so far! Thank you so much for developing the plugin. If I see a reason to upgrade to the Pro version I’ll do so. I’ll also recommend it to other people I know using WordPress, if I get the chance.
Great, very much appreciated Renai! If you have time, an honest review would make me really happy as well.
Let me know if you run into anything you need help with.
