Can't Preview any Theme

    Hi there, just as a forewarning I am completely new to working with websites through wordpress.

    Ok, so my issue is that I can’t see anything when I try to customize my theme. I get the options bar to pop up on the left and I can edit things but the right side of the screen where my website should be remains white and blank. I was able to see the default twenty thirteen when I first installed but then I tried to change the theme and from then on the preview has always remained blank.

    Anybody have any guidance?

    What theme are you using? Where did you download it from?

    I cant find the name of the second one I tried to install but I currently have the Customizr theme. I got them from wordpress, I just went through the install themes link

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    What is the name of the default theme? I only have this theme in my manage themes section. I believe someone else deleted the others.

    I’ll start working through the other solutions, I don’t have any plugins running so I don’t think that is it.

    Also looking at my file manager I don’t see any folders labeled wp-config.php, is this in a particular folder?

    The website isn’t up and running yet. Quick question I’m looking on my websites control panel and it says that I have two wordpress’s installed

    one with my url

    crossroadsconnect.us – This one comes up under development

    and one with

    crossroadsconnect.us/wordpress – This one comes up blank

    Is there a way to start over from scratch? I don’t have anything uploaded to the website yet so I’m not losing anything.

    Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and the wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    Ok, I’ll try and work through these but if worse comes to worse can I just delete both wordpress installs and restart?

    Well then if I uninstall that one can I start from scratch? Sorry, it looked like two, like I said I am rather new at this.

    Remove all WordPress files & folders and delete your WordPress database.
