# Can’t replace URL containing #

 * Hi, I’m trying to replace a URL that is used as a link on many of my webpages:
   
   Replace this: [https://loveweddingphotosandfilm.co.uk/#Questions-To-Ask-A-Wedding-Photographer](https://loveweddingphotosandfilm.co.uk/#Questions-To-Ask-A-Wedding-Photographer)
   with this: [https://loveweddingphotosandfilm.co.uk/questions-to-ask-a-wedding-photographer/](https://loveweddingphotosandfilm.co.uk/questions-to-ask-a-wedding-photographer/)
   Note the old URL has a # in the address. When I run BSAR it finds tables containing
   the old URL, and when I run the software it tells me it has implemented the changes…
   but the pages containing the old URL still have ther old URL and no change was
   made.Why does it see the URL to change, but not actually change anything?

 * Hi, Thanks for getting back to me. I did fix this by installing another plugin
   and it made the change, as I had many internal links needing changed and needed
   it done ASAP.
   I still have your plugin installed and still wish to use this as
   it usually works just fine, but it was frustrating that it didn’t seem to like
   handling a URL with containing the # character. What could be the problem?

   I see, unfortunately,
   I am unable to replicate this issue on my local environment. I even tried using
   the values that you were trying to use – Search for: [https://loveweddingphotosandfilm.co.uk/#Questions-To-Ask-A-Wedding-Photographer](https://loveweddingphotosandfilm.co.uk/#Questions-To-Ask-A-Wedding-Photographer)
 * Replace with: [https://loveweddingphotosandfilm.co.uk/questions-to-ask-a-wedding-photographer/](https://loveweddingphotosandfilm.co.uk/questions-to-ask-a-wedding-photographer/)
   
   And the plugin was able to edit it in a test page. Could you please try creating
   a test page in your site, and try the ‘Search and Replace’ process again in the
   said page. And kindly tell us if you are able to consistently reproduce the issue.
