# Can't run import function

 * I’m trying to import my wordpress.com blog, and it’s saying that it can’t be 
   written to the server. I have uploaded the content manually with my ftp server,
   but I don’t know how tobypass the upload screen.

 * Are you trying to import by using Tools > Import ?

 * Yes. The plugin installed fine, but it said the server can’t be written to for
   that. I can modifiy anything else with the same credentials, so this is a bit
   baffling.

 * Currently it’s set at 755. Lizardhill is my host, and direct admin runs my coding.

 * Is the export file big? Maybe try breaking it up into smaller files.

 * It’s only 5 mb.

 * I double checked to make sure there was no other media interfering with it and
   there’s none.

 * Now it’s simply saying it’s unable to upload. Is there another way to do it?

 * Have you asked the hosting company about this?
 * Or you could try exporting the file again from WordPress.COM.

 * The hosting company did in fact tell me what to do and it worked.
