I’ve been trying to reach AWPCP by email using the contact form on the AWPCP website, but I keep getting blocked. I really need to get my questions answered before I make a purchasing decision about this plugin. Please respond to this message with details on how I can reach you.

    Here are my questions:
I am working on building an interactive community that requires the following:

Multiple memberships, some free, some paid

    Restrict user capabilities by:
Ability to post content (only registered members can post)
Number of posts per month (i.e. User A can submit 25 posts, User B can submit 50 posts)
Limit categories user can post in (i.e. User A can post in Category A, User B can post in Categories A and B)
Limit quantity of image upload by category of post (i.e. User A can upload 2 images per post in Category A, User B can upload 5 images per post in Category B and 2 images per post in Category A)
    Recurring monthly charge
    Paypal integration

    Bulletin board integration (i.e. BBPress)
    • Restrict user ability to post in each forum set by membership level
    • All members can view posts in any forum
    • Ability to upload photos (restrict both quantity and size)

Search by: User, category, keyword, tag, etc.

FrontEnd User Interface: Login, sign up, Post, upload images, post to forum, edit profile, modify membership all from the front end
No user access to admin backend except for Administrator

What features will your software provide? What other plugins does yours integrate with smoothly.

    Platform:
    Apache web server
    MySQL database
    PHP 5.4
    Wordpress 4.3

  • Hi trome,

Sorry that you ran into issues here! I cleared your request so you should be able to contact me via the contact form in the future: http://awpcp.com/contact. I have a plugin installed to reduce spam registrations and sometimes real folks get caught in it–sorry for the hassle there.

Answers to your questions inline here:

I am working on building an interactive community that requires the following:

Multiple memberships, some free, some paid

AWPCP doesn’t handle memberships for users, we handle the listings themselves. You can have a membership plugin like s2member or Restrict Content Pro that can handle this aspect, but we don’t specifically integrate with them directly for everything. See below for more details on the specifics you wanted to know.

    Restrict user capabilities by:
Ability to post content (only registered members can post)

We definitely support this with a setting under the Registration tab.

Number of posts per month (i.e. User A can submit 25 posts, User B can submit 50 posts)

We don’t support this on a per-user basis with a membership, but you can do this using our Subscriptions module that allows users to purchase a package like that and you can time-limit it to meet this need. Only one subscription can be active at a time.

Limit categories user can post in (i.e. User A can post in Category A, User B can post in Categories A and B)

This isn’t a feature we support. You can restrict posting by fee plan (making categories paid for example) but not by user.

Limit quantity of image upload by category of post (i.e. User A can upload 2 images per post in Category A, User B can upload 5 images per post in Category B and 2 images per post in Category A)

Subscriptions can limit the number of images per ad, but it’s not tied to a user. Any user could purchase a subscription of their choice. It’s also not tied to categories.

    Recurring monthly charge
    Paypal integration

We support PayPal. We don’t have automatic recurring charges (yet!) but we do send reminders to users when their subscription or fee is expiring.

    Bulletin board integration (i.e. BBPress)
    • Restrict user ability to post in each forum set by membership level
    • All members can view posts in any forum
    • Ability to upload photos (restrict both quantity and size)

We don’t have any integration with bbPress at this time. None of this is explicitly supported with AWPCP. Again, we just handle the classifieds aspect. Something like this is probably better handled by a membership plugin.

Search by: User, category, keyword, tag, etc.

    We support all of this.

FrontEnd User Interface: Login, sign up, Post, upload images, post to forum, edit profile, modify membership all from the front end
No user access to admin backend except for Administrator

Yes, we support this. You can do it with or without BuddyPress as well.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or issues!
