 * Hi,
 * I have caption of image title set with plugin.
Now I want to replace caption
with image description but for that plugin does not allow me to set with one
   click.
 * I’ve to go to each image then edit then remove caption save and then “Map IPTC/
EXIF Metadata” from image page and it tends to apply.
 * I have around 2000+ images.
Can anyone guide me if there is any ruleset to be
build to replace caption content with new IPTC template code ?
 * If yes how to do it ?

 * Thank you for your question. Here is a process that will let you replace the
contents of the Caption field with the contents of the Description field:
    1. Go to the Settings/Media Library Assistant IPTC/EXIF tab.
    2. Scroll down to the “Standard field mapping” section.
    3. Locate the “Caption” row in that section.
    4. In the “IPTC Value” dropdown, leave the default “None (select a value)” selection
       in place.
    5. In the “EXIF/Template Value” text box, enter `template:([+post_content+])`.
    6. In the “Priority” dropdown, select “EXIF”.
    7. In the “Existing Text” dropdown, select “Replace” (if you want to preserve any
non-blank Captions already assigned you can select “Keep”).
 * Now you have a choice. If this is a one-time task you can simply click the “Map
All Attachments, Standard Fields Now” button to the right of the section title.
That will apply the rule to all of your items but it will not save the rule for
future use. If you want this rule to become permanent, scroll down to the bottom
of the screen and click “Save Changes”.
 * If you define a permanent rule you can apply it to a single image, multiple images
   or all images:
    1. To map a single image, go to the Media/Assistant submenu and click the thumbnail
of the image you want (or click the “Edit” rollover action) to get the Media/
Edit Media screen. You can click the “Map IPTC/EXIF metadata” link to run your
rules on this image, then scroll down and look through the taxonomy meta boxes
       to inspect the results.
    2. To map two or more images, go to the Media/Assistant submenu and click the checkbox
next to the images you want. Then, select “Edit” from the “Bulk Actions” dropdown
above the checkboxes and click “Apply” to open the Bulk Edit area. Click the“
Map IPTC/EXIF metadata” button to run your rules on the selected images.
    3. To map all of your images, stay on the Settings/Media Library Assistant IPTC/
EXIF tab and click the “Map All Attachments, Standard Fields Now” button. This
       may take a while.
 * If this is a one-time task, you should remove the rule after you’re done. If
you want to assign Caption and Description values to items as they are uploaded
you can define a replacement rule to get values from the IPTC or EXIF data in
   your images.
 * I am marking this topic resolved. If I did not understand your question or if
you have problems or further questions about the above suggestions please update
the topic. Thanks for you interest in the plugin.

 * Thanks David.
Sometimes it’s really straight and we dont think of that option
   being non programmer.
 * I have made a little change in caption kept 2#120 caption-or-abstract EXIF blank
and priority IPTC Existing change (This time I made replace) and it worked for
   single image.
 * Basically I applied caption with Title in all images by mistake in all 2000+
images and it was not changing to description which I wanted to be.
 * Task is running right now for all images.
Will post the result if it works.
 * My next question is I’ve checked both option
 * Enable IPTC/EXIF Mapping when adding new media
    Enable IPTC/EXIF Mapping when
   updating media metadata
 * Would it apply the same setting when I upload my next batch of images without
manually applying or I should enable more setting ?
 * Really great help and wonderful plugin that made my life easy.

 * Thank you for your updates with the good news. You asked:
 * > My next question is I’ve checked both option

   > updating media metadata
   > Would it apply the same setting when I upload my next batch of images without

 * The answer is yes, those settings will apply all of your IPTC/EXIF mapping rules
to your next batch of images as they are uploaded.
